Musical Ensembles Parents Group Report
Welcome to the first news report for 2009 from the supporters of musical ensembles associated with Port Hacking High School.
Welcome to all the new students involved in musical activities attending Port Hacking High School for the first time, their parents or carers, and students and parents involved in the various music ensembles within the school.The first meeting for this group was held on Thursday 5 February 2009 with the aim to introduce all involved with music ensembles at Port Hacking High School and to determined a day and frequency of these Parent Support Group meetings.
The supporters' function is to:
- assist in fund raising to maintain all ensembles;
- provide assistance at performances;
- assist in setting goals and direction of ensembles;
- consultation on setting fees for members inensembles;
- consultation on issues concerning ensembles;
- act as the liaison between parents and school management on aspects concerning ensembles;
- provide information to parents and other interested persons by preparing an Ensemble Newsletter on a regular basis and articles for Deeban.
Currently there are approximately 40, 2009 Year 7 students involved in Band activities so far, and any student wishing to be involved should see Mr Price, Mr McBride or Ms Howard in the Music Department. To the parents of these new students, please become involved in this group to assist in the on going development of our excellent band programs.

Notification of the next meeting will be by E-mail, Roll Call Notice, and a note given to ensemble members at rehearsal.
